About D&C / MTP Procedure
(Gynaecology & Obstetrics)
D&C (Dilatation & Curettage) and MTP (Medical Termination of Pregnancy) are short, daycare gynaecological procedures performed to safely manage early pregnancy termination, incomplete miscarriage, retained products of conception, abnormal uterine bleeding or to obtain an endometrial biopsy for diagnosis. At Healic, every D&C / MTP is performed under strict MTP Act compliance, with ultrasound confirmation, infection prevention protocols, female-only consultation rooms and complete privacy — most patients are home the same day and back to normal routine within 2–3 days.
Patients usually need evaluation for incomplete miscarriage with retained tissue, abnormal or heavy uterine bleeding, retained products of conception. Our team confirms causes such as incomplete miscarriage, retained products of conception, abnormal uterine bleeding and recommends the right option from mtp (medical termination of pregnancy), diagnostic d&c with transparent pricing and structured follow-up.

Your Questions
We are happy to answer every question you have.

1.Is the D&C / MTP procedure confidential?
Yes — 100%. We use female-only consultation rooms, discreet billing and never share any patient information. Reports are released only to the patient.
2.Is MTP legal in India?
Yes. The MTP (Amendment) Act 2021 permits termination up to 20 weeks (and up to 24 weeks in defined categories) when performed by a registered gynaecologist. Healic strictly follows MTP Act protocols.
3.Will it affect future pregnancy?
No. A correctly performed D&C / MTP with ultrasound guidance does not affect future fertility. Most women conceive normally afterwards.
4.How long does the procedure take?
The procedure itself takes about 10–15 minutes. Including admission, anaesthesia and recovery, you are usually in the hospital for 3–4 hours.
5.Is the procedure painful?
No — it is done under short sedation or general anaesthesia, so you feel nothing during the procedure. Mild cramping for a day or two afterwards is normal.
